About

Dr. Makha Phetphommasouk, DACM, L.Ac

My journey to Traditional Chinese Medicine began in 2004 as a pre-medical student, volunteering at Rui Jin Hospital in Shanghai, China. During my studies abroad, I experienced first-hand the effectiveness of treating complex disorders with acupuncture and herbs. In 2009, I enrolled in the Master of Science in Oriental Medicine program at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) located in Berkeley, Ca. While at AIMC, I learned the gentle needling technique of Japanese Acupuncture. Upon graduating, I've treated over 400 patients while interning at AIMC's school clinic, UC Berkeley Sport Medicine Clinic, and the Jewish Community Free Clinic located in Rohnert Park, Ca . Since then, I have practiced at the Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture Clinic, and Farmacopia in Santa Rosa, Ca. I have also spent some time shadowing Dr. Joshua Margolis, L.Ac learning pain management and manual medicine techniques.

Working with my patients, I have seen numerous positive results and benefits that acupuncture and herbal medicine can have. I feel that it is my duty to share the benefits and knowledge of my extensive education with you. My background also includes training in a wide array of Chinese medicine modalities, such as herbal medicine, fire cupping, tuina/shiatsu massage and qigong . I am licensed by the state of California. I am fluent in Laotian, Thai and English.

I understand that each person is different and may have a unique health concern. That is why I feel it is important to enhance and customize each treatment based on the individual's specific needs. I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding how acupuncture and Chinese medicine can benefit you. Together, we can work towards finding the right treatment plan to achieve your health and wellness goals. Book your FREE 20 minute consultation today!
